Office Wear for the "New Era" Working Class : Tips and Trends
The new era working class is more eager than ever to find a way to get ahead of their male and female counterparts within their workplace as the office world today gets more competitive than ever. The corporate image and appearance of a person continue to remain key factors in helping a person move up the corporate ladder.
The difficulty lies in being able to meld one’s personal style and professional look together. So, one needs to try and find out which of the personal styles sync well with the professional look and which personal style can actually kill one’s career. The fundamental idea behind dressing for work is to project a professional and competent image of one-self and this is irrespective of one’s designation or role or industry of operation. The styles, colors, lengths and fits of one’s fashion choices speak volumes about one’s capability. In general, the more distracting a piece of clothing or jewelry, the less appropriate it is for office wear.
Colors for clothes can include red, navy blue, gray, pink and black. Most of these colors will be available in many forms such as trousers, shirts, suits, long skirts and pantsuits. Also there are some feminine colors like ice blue, lilac and soft pink. It is a good idea not to experiment with wild prints and distracting colors which make one look odd in office, especially fluorescent colors etc.
One should we wary of dressing up in heavy jewelry because it can prove to be really irritating, making noise and distracting others. Try and stick to small but still cute looking jewelry. Similarly with bags and purses, choose one that best suits your purpose. Going for a really glittery and jazzy bag or purse is a clear No-No. In conclusion, avoid trying to look too sexy, sloppy, casual or unkempt. Instead, just try to look tidy and professional. Generally, a good strategy is to watch what your boss wears to work and that should provide you with ideas on what you could wear to your office.
